What is MI Paste®?

MI Paste® is a topical tooth crème used for treating patients who experience tooth sensitivity caused by professional cleanings and in-office whitening procedures. The RECALDENT™ formula uses a milk-derived protein to release calcium and phosphate ions that assist in tooth remineralization. Although the lactose content in MI Paste® is less than 0.01%, GC America recommends against using this material on patients that have milk/ casein allergies. There are a wide variety of flavors across the MI Paste® line of products including Melon, Mint, Strawberry, Tutti Frutti, Vanilla, and Fresh Mint. All MI Paste® and MI Paste Plus™ flavors are water-based and sugar-free. Sodium Lauryl Sulfate-free and made with fluoride, MI Paste® ONE combines the benefits of MI Paste® Plus and daily-use toothpaste in a single application.

How to use MI Paste®

Patients can use MI Paste® ONE just like toothpaste. For most effective results, apply to your toothbrush twice daily, brush for 2 minutes, expectorate, but do not rinse and refrain from eating for 30 minutes after.
MI Paste® and MI Paste Plus® are easy for patients to apply at home. Use a gloved finger or cotton swab to apply a pea-sized amount to the tooth surface and leave for 3 minutes.
For in-office visits, dental professionals can elect to use any of the following methods:
