Mass Casualty Incident Preparedness - Henry Schein Medical EMS

When it Comes to Mass Causalities, There is no Such Thing as Too Prepared

A mass casualty incident (MCI) is defined as "an event that overwhelms the local health care system, where the number of casualties vastly exceeds the local resources and capabilities in a short period."¹ A MCI is unpredictable and quickly causes exhaustion for normal day-to-day tasks of local hospitals.

Regardless of how unpredictable an MCI may be, being properly prepared to tackle the situation rapidly and effectively with confidence is possible with the proper training and equipment.
