How to Use the HemoCue® Hb 201+ System

Operating the HemoCue® Hb 201+ System is straightforward and involves just three steps:

  1. Fill the Microcuvette: Use a capillary, venous, or arterial blood sample to fill the microcuvette.
  2. Insert the Microcuvette: Place the filled microcuvette into the analyzer for processing.

HB 201+ Cleaning and Maintenance

First, make sure to turn off the analyzer by pressing the power button. The cuvette holder should be cleaned daily. To remove it, pull it into the loading position and then press the release mechanism.

To clean the inside cover glasses, insert a cleaning swab into the cuvette holder's opening, gently moving the swab side to side, and then push it in and out. If the swab gets dirty, use a fresh one to continue.

You can also clean the exterior surfaces of the cuvette holder and the black housing components with a 20–70% alcohol solution or mild detergent. After cleaning, allow 15 minutes for the cuvette holder to dry before reinstalling it.
