Multistix®, by Seimens, are blood and urinalysis test strips that can be used for screening urinary tract infections and disorders. They are also known as urine dipsticks. These firm plastic strips have separate reagent areas and are used to test for ten separate reagents in urine. Multistix can be read visually and do not require additional laboratory equipment for testing.
Multistix® contain 10 pads distributed evenly along a strip set up to test for proteins, blood, nitrates, glucose, ketone, pH levels, leukocytes, specific gravity, urobilinogen and bilirubin in the urine. Testing components may vary.
Siemens Multistix® are used to assist diagnosis in specific areas such as kidney function, urinary tract infections, carb metabolism and liver function.
