The VX-2 is both an onboard and a portable suction unit. It mounts in the action area of a vehicle and has every feature necessary for effective onboard suction. The charging/retention bracket holds the unit securely in place and provides vehicle power to run the VX-2 as an onboard suction device, while charging the internal battery. The device can be removed from the charging /retention bracket with 1 hand to become a powerful and effective portable suction unit, easily transported to the patients side. The variable regulator allows the negative pressure to be adjusted quickly between 50 to 525 mmHg to provide reduced vacuum for tracheal and pediatric procedures, as well as vacuum less than 50 mmHg for neonates. The VX-2 features an advanced battery maintenance system. The 3-LED, 5-position battery indicator alerts the user when the device is being charged and indicates the condition of the internal sealed lead-acid battery. Additional LEDs indicate when the VX-2 is plugged in to a power source and when the pump is running. The battery maintenance system allows the device to be plugged in at all times without overcharging the device. Think of it as onboard suction that is not chained to the vehicle. Compliant with SAE J3043 standards when used with a 1200-cc Bemis canister and the SSCOR #230-00003 Onboard Canister Clip (not included).
