3M™ Kerramax Care™ Super-Absorbent Dressing

The Kerramax Care Dressing from Solventum represents a cutting-edge solution for managing high-exudate wounds. This advanced dressing features a four-layer system designed to effectively control wound fluid while minimizing discomfort and skin irritation. Ideal for use in a variety of clinical settings, it helps enhance patient care by promoting optimal wound healing.

Kerramax Care Dressing Key Features

Advanced Absorption

The dressing’s innovative four-layer design includes a wicking layer and absorbent core that draw in and hold exudate efficiently. This system helps keep the wound area dry and supports a favorable healing environment.

Leak Protection

The heat-sealed base layer contains all exudate, preventing leaks and maintaining the dressing’s integrity. This feature helps prevent maceration and reduces the risk of further irritation to the surrounding skin.

Comfort and Versatility

With its soft top layer and non-adhesive construction, the dressing offers comfort and flexibility, even when used with compression bandages. It remains securely in place without causing additional discomfort or damage.

Dressing Composition

  • Soft Top Layer: A non-woven layer that facilitates moisture evaporation.
  • Wicking Layer and Absorbent Core: Draws fluid away from the wound and spreads it evenly across the dressing to enhance dryness and healing.
  • Fluid-Containing Base: Heat-sealed to securely contain all absorbed fluid.
  • Free of Adhesive: Minimizes irritation and prevents further damage to both the wound and surrounding skin.

Clinical Applications

The Kerramax Care Dressing is particularly suited for:

  • Pressure Ulcers
  • Leg Ulcers
  • Diabetic Foot Ulcers
  • Venous Leg Ulcers

How to Use the Kerramax Care Dressing

  1. Preparation: Cleanse the wound according to standard protocols.
  2. Selection: Choose a dressing size that overlaps the wound edges. Do not cut the dressing.
  3. Application: Place the sterile dressing onto the wound. Both sides of the dressing are suitable for use. For heavy exudate, multiple dressings can be stacked for enhanced absorption.
  4. Maintenance: Inspect the dressing regularly and change it when saturated, or every 7 days if not saturated.

Dressing Benefits

  • Prevents Leakage: Designed to manage fluid effectively, reducing the risk of leakage and maintaining dressing performance.
  • Reduces Risk of Infection: By containing bacteria and metalloproteinases (MMPs), it helps prevent infection and promotes a healthier wound environment.
  • Compatible with Compression Therapy: Suitable for use under compression therapy, as directed by a healthcare professional.
